Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber is hoping to create more than one ‘Superstar’ in his new ITV talent search.
The Musical Supremo, whose new series will find a lead for an Arena version of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ is banking on a new boyband to ensure the show is a hit with teens – and not just those who remember the original movie from the 1970’s.
Lloyd Webber checked out ‘Lawson’ – described as mix between The Wanted and The Script – at their gig in London last week and will apparently see a number of other bands before choosing his favourite.
Lloyd Webber had earlier revealed on ITV's "This Morning" that he was looking for a houseband.
Lawson (aka Andy, Ryan, Joel and Adam) are managed by Global Talent – the same people behind The Wanted - giving them a surefire route to success. They'll release a debut single this Spring.
